Community Activist and Organizer
Carly Jones is a community activist, arts advocate, and performing artist from Raleigh, NC. Carly is a graduate of Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) where she received degrees in Music Performance, Black Music History and Arts Administration. Currently, she is the Communications and Development Director for a local arts nonprofit, and she performs throughout the Triangle area. Throughout her life, she has been involved as an organizer in various political campaigns and voter recruitment efforts, and she enjoys bringing diverse people together for a common cause. Most recently, she was the Programs Co-Chair and one of the lead organizers for the Women’s March on Raleigh. Carly has continued her work with the Women’s March on Raleigh organizers as a part of the steering committee and their efforts to support progressive organizations throughout North Carolina. She also helped to with logistics for the No Ban, No Wall Rally in Raleigh and to coordinate support for the 15in5 minimum wage campaign for the AFL-CIO NC. Growing up in a political, multicultural household – Carly has always been passionate about social justice, celebrating people’s differences and intersectional activism.
