A gathering for creative, smart communications
Sandy is the Managing Editor for the Philanthropy Journal at the Institute for Nonprofits at NC State. Spending all day every day talking about how great nonprofits are pretty much makes working with the Philanthropy Journal her dream job. She holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MPA with a focus in Nonprofit Management from NC State University, which have blended wonderfully into a career as a nonprofit communicator. She also volunteers with several groups, including being a foster parent for the Wake County Animal Center.
Sandy lives in Garner with her husband, two young daughters, a slew of chickens, three cats, and on any given day, a foster or two. When not talking about nonprofits ad nauseum, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening, running, biking and horseback riding. Someday, she will get back into painting.
There’s a lot to be excited about with the Philanthropy Journal in 2017! We anticipate continued growth, and are looking forward to some exciting new projects we have in the works. But most of all, I am excited to hear about and share all the great work going on in the nonprofit sector here in North Carolina, and around the country!
